The Facial Aesthetic Surgery Site of Tongchun Mao, MD
An educational site about the facial aesthetic surgery practice of Dr. Tongchun Mao at Chongqing West District Hospital — what he does, how he works, and what honest facial surgical care involves.
One surgeon, a four-doctor team, a tertiary hospital
The Surgeon
Tongchun Mao (毛彤春), MD, is Deputy Director of the Plastic Surgery & Aesthetics Medical Center and head of its aesthetic surgery service at Chongqing West District Hospital, specializing in rhinoplasty and nasal refinement, eyelid surgery, facial bone contouring, facelift and facial rejuvenation, and facial fat grafting — personally performing more than 700 operations a year.
The Team
Dr. Mao practices within the Plastic Surgery & Aesthetics Medical Center as part of a four-doctor team: Center Director Shaoliang Wang (王韶亮), Ke He (何锞), and Yongbo Jia (贾勇波). Surgery here is a departmental activity, not a solo performance.
The Hospital
Chongqing West District Hospital is a modern tertiary general hospital. Its Plastic Surgery & Aesthetics Medical Center opened in April 2026 and operates coordinated service lines including reconstructive surgery, aesthetic surgery, and laser- and energy-based procedures — with anesthesia, imaging, laboratory, blood bank, and intensive care in the same building.
Education before operation
We believe the most important part of facial surgery happens before the incision: structured analysis of your proportions, skin, and soft tissue, an honest conversation about what an operation can and cannot achieve, and a plan that respects your anatomy. That is why this site leads with patient education rather than sales language.
Evidence-Based
Our guidance reflects established surgical evidence and honest discussion of risk, not marketing claims.
Plain-Language
We explain procedures, graft materials, and staged plans in clear English, so you can take part in every decision.
Honest About Limits
No surgeon can guarantee a particular look or a risk-free operation. Scars are permanent, bone surgery swells for months, and final results take six to twelve months. We say so before you commit, not after.
Chongqing West District Hospital
Chongqing West District Hospital is a tertiary general hospital developed as a major healthcare project for Chongqing, with a planned capacity of up to 1,200 beds and more than 300 types of advanced medical equipment. More than 200 specialists with backgrounds at institutions affiliated with Army Medical University practice across more than 40 clinical departments, supported by nine major medical centres including the Plastic Surgery & Aesthetics Medical Center.
The hospital's culture, shaped by military medicine, emphasises discipline, rigour, and responsibility in clinical care. For facial surgery patients, the defining advantage is that the full resources of a tertiary hospital — anesthesia, intensive care, imaging, pathology, and transfusion — stand behind every operation.
